Posing Information

It’s time for your wedding. You want to look great in your photos, but you may not have spent much time in front of a camera.

No worries. I’ll be there with you to help and direct when you need it.

I’ll be shooting a mix of staged and candid poses. Both types of pictures have their own strengths. The secret is that the in-between shots are the best; the ones that started out as staged, but have been lived-in somehow (if that makes any sense). Those shots let me start you down a path, and you get to make it all yours.

The videos below are good jumping off points when thinking about posing for photos. Whether you take anything away from them, know that I’ll be right there with you to help guide you through the (often initially awkward) experience.

If you or your Planner have Mood Boards or Inspiration, please share them with me. I’d love to see what you’ve got in Here’s my Pinterest.

FAQs

What is your turnaround time?

Weddings, Elopements, and their Accoutrements are fairly labor intensive, but I try to keep the time between when we do your shoot and when you have your pictures to five weeks. If you order prints, there will be an additional week to process them once they’ve been selected. Applicable time frames are also laid out in all of my Photography Agreements.

Can I order prints and albums from you directly?

Yes you can. I do all my own printing up to 13x19s, and print on matte, satin, metallic, and archival papers. I also mat where necessary or requested.

Currently, I’m not able to print and bind my own albums, nor am I able to do large-scale, specialty prints like canvas or acrylic. So, I design them myself and have them printed through Blurb.

Do you offer discounts?

As a matter of fact, I do.

If you book a Wedding to take place between November and March, you can expect a 20% discount. Or, if you book a Wedding to take place on any day that isn’t Saturday, you can expect a 10% discount.

What if I have to cancel a shoot?

Hopefully you won’t have to Cancel or Reschedule your Wedding, but if 2020 taught us anything, it’s that bit about the best laid plans…

If you (the client) have to cancel for any reason, just let me know. Heads up though, you will forfeit your Deposit; unless you reschedule, in which case, it will be transferred to your new date.

If something happens to me (the photographer) to force a cancellation, I’ll give you the option to receive a full refund, including your deposit, or for me to find a suitable replacement that you approve of. Both circumstances are referenced in all of my Photography Agreements.

Do you require a deposit, and if so, when is it due?

I do. I ask for $200 to reserve your shoot date and help me get the ball rolling. Your Deposit will be due when you sign your Photography Agreement and send it back to me. The remaining cost of your Photo Package is due prior to your shoot. Print purchases can be made beyond your Print Credit, should you or your family wish to order more at any time.

What rights will I have to the images taken at my shoot?

Whichever ones you’ve selected in your Talent Agreement (separate from the Photography Agreement). And you will get to select them. It’s your choice whether to retain, share, or relinquish rights relating to Personal Use, Public Display, and Commercial Use.

I prefer agreements, not releases.
